Keith Anthony Robert Burgess we aren't dependent on Russia, but others are which will push the price up. The gas providers in the UK will charge the market rate (although I think households in the UK already pay way above our continental neighbours for fuel supplies). Alan Dengate 5% from Russia, 30% from Norway, 50% from UK , the remainder is liquid gas from US and middle East I think. The price will go up because the gas companies are private companies, so they will charge us the global market rate. If they were state owned it would be different. Sanctions will hit the Russian people just as much as it will hit the Europeans on all levels. Let's see how the Russian citizens react towards Putin if all of this goes on for a long time. It's not necessarily going to be favourable for him. It will be the Russian citizens themselves who will make or break it for Putin. He may well have misjudged his own public.
